Charity donation by Lodge Scoon and Perth No 3

Jon Kerr, secretary of Letham FC, the footballing arm of Letham Community Sports Club receiving the £500 cheque from the Master of Lodge Scoon and Perth, Alexander Moncrieff

“Letham FC's were delighted to receive the generous donation of £500 which will be used to finance a coach for the Under Nine (U9) girls section allowing the club to provide free sessions to this age group. The U9's is the start of the girl's pathway and is critically important for the formation of new teams and recruitment of volunteers. Therefore, this funding will be a great
assistance in strengthening our pathway from the start and get more girls playing football.” said Club Secretary Jon Kerr

Positive Local Impact
Letham FC have seen a real upturn in interest from girls in playing football due to the two COVID-19 lockdowns as many families have found that kicking a ball around was the most accessible form of exercise.
At a recent online meeting, of Lodge Scoon and Perth, one of the world’s oldest lodge of freemasons, it was decided to donate to Letham FC which the lodge has previously supported.

“Having visited the club in the past this superb facility clearly provides the opportunity for children to interact with one another, participate in sport and socializing, all overseen by a dedicated team of young volunteers. The lodge is so pleased to be able to contribute to such a great charity which is heavily supported by many grateful parents who so appreciate the value that it adds to the lives of their children.” Said Alexander Moncrieff
